OUR MISSION

Supporting children and young
people in care.

Their future rests in our hands…

Welcome to Children We Care For, a dedicated and compassionate charity organisation committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people in care. Our mission is to provide support, guidance and resources to children who find themselves in the foster care system, group homes or other care arrangements. We believe that every child deserves a nurturing and loving environment regardless of their circumstances.

As of March 2023 there were 83,840 children in care in the UK. Most of the children are aged 10-15, but some are as young as 5 years old.

The main causes are;

Abuse

Neglect

Family breakdown

Parental illness

Other circumstances that render their homes unsafe.

Being a child in care can mean
disruptions in education due to frequent changes in schools or lack of educational stability. This can lead to lower academic performance and hinder long-term achievements.

Only 7% of children in care go onto obtain passes in GCSE Maths and
English compared with 40% of children not in care.

Lack of stable education can mean future prospects are significantly compromised, and a higher probability of facing the below challenges:

Limited job opportunities

Lower income

Limited social skills

Increased risk of criminal activity

Reduced personal development

Intergenerational impact.

Education plays a huge role in a person’s life outcome, opportunities and overall wellbeing. We aim to help improve these statistics through the support, guidance and resources we offer.
